SV	Geliefden, alzo ik alle naarstigheid doe om u te schrijven van de gemene zaligheid, zo heb ik noodzaak gehad aan u te schrijven en [u] te vermanen, dat gij strijdt voor het geloof, dat eenmaal den heiligen overgeleverd is.

ASV	Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints.
BE	My loved ones, while my thoughts were full of a letter which I was going to send you about our common salvation, it was necessary for me to send you one requesting you with all my heart to go on fighting strongly for the faith which has been given to the saints once and for ever.

ELB05	Geliebte, indem ich allen Fleiß anwandte, euch über unser gemeinsames Heil zu schreiben, war ich genötigt, euch zu schreiben und zu ermahnen, für den einmal den Heiligen überlieferten Glauben zu kämpfen.

Sch	Geliebte, da es mir ein großes Anliegen ist, euch von unsrem gemeinsamen Heil zu schreiben, halte ich es für notwendig, euch zu schreiben mit der Ermahnung, daß ihr für den Glauben kämpfet, der den Heiligen ein für allemal übergeben worden ist.
Web	Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you concerning the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith, which was once delivered to the saints.
Weym	Dear friends, since I am eager to begin a letter to you on the subject of our common salvation, I find myself constrained to write and cheer you on to the vigorous defense of the faith delivered once for all to God's people.
