ἐπιλέγω,
  say in connexion with an action, etc., Herodotus Historicus 2.35, 64, etc. ; ποιεῖν τι καὶ ἐπιλέγειν say while or after doing it, prev. author 4.65 ; παίζουσιν ἐπιλέγοντες prev. author 5.4; ἐ. λόγον τόνδε, ὡς.. prev. author 2.156, 8.49 ; ἐξηπάτων.. ἐπιλέγων τοιαυτί Aristophanes Comicus “Equites” 418; ἐ. τεκμήρια τὴν ἄλλην αὐτοῦ.. παρανομίαν citing it as proof, Th. 6.28, cf. Alciphr. 3.56.
