συμφύω,
  later συμφῠτ-φύνω “CR” 33.5 (near Antioch) :— make to grow together, unite a wound, Diodorus Siculus Historicus 32.11 (conjecture), Dioscorides (Dioscurides) Medicus 1.128; σ. τὰ ὁμογενῆ Aristoteles Philosophus “Meteorologica” 378b15 ; σ. τοὺς ἄνωθεν ὀδόντας imagine them unite into one, prev. author “PA” 659b24 ; σ. τινὰς εἰς φιλότητα unite them, Plato Philosophus “Epistulae” 323b: but συμφῦσαι in prev. author “Smp.” 192e is f.l. for{συμφυσῆσαι}.
__II passive, with perfect active συμπέφῡκα, aorist 2 συνέφῡν (3rd.pers. singular optative συμφύη Soranus Medicus 2.89); also συνεφύην Aristoteles Philosophus “Politica” 1262b13, Theophrastus Philosophus “de Causis Plantarum” 5.5.3, Soranus Medicus 1.36, etc. : future συμφυήσομαι “Geoponica” 4.12.9 :—grow together, Empedocles Poeta Philosophus 26.7, 95 (tmesis), Plato Philosophus “Symposium” 191a, “Ti.” 76e, Xenophon Historicus “Institutio Cyri (Cyropaedia)” 4.3.18, etc. ; ψυχὴ καὶ σῶμα Plato Philosophus “Phaedrus” 246d ; of a political constitution, Polybius Historicus 4.32.9.
