τοιόσδε, άδε
  (Ionic dialect ήδε), όνδε, a form of τοῖος, bearing the same relation to τοιοῦτος as ὅδε to οὗτος, such as this, in Homerus Epicus not so common as τοῖος, but in Herodotus Historicus and Attic dialect much more so; sometimes antecedent to οἷος, as ἀοιδοῦ τοιοῦδ᾽ οἷος ὅδ᾽ ἐστί Odyssea Homerus Epicus “Odyssey” 1.371, compare 17.313, Ilias Homerus Epicus “Illiad” 24.375: but more frequently abs., ἀλλ᾽ ὅδ᾽ ἐγὼ τ. here am I such as you see, Odyssea Homerus Epicus “Odyssey” 16.205, compare 15.330 ; frequently with implications, so great, so bad, etc.; οὔ κε κακοὶ τοιούσδε τέκοιεν 4.64; τοιόσδε τοσόσδε τε λαός Ilias Homerus Epicus “Illiad” 2.120, 799 ; τοιάδε λαίφεα such clothes, i. e. so bad, Odyssea Homerus Epicus “Odyssey” 20.206; τοσόσδε καὶ τοιόσδε Herodotus Historicus 2.73: after Homerus Epicus antecedent to οἷος, Sophocles Tragicus “Fragmenta” 576.2, Plato Philosophus “Meno” 75e, etc. ; to ὅς, Herodotus Historicus 7.158 ; rarely to a conjunction, as ὡς, Aeschylus Tragicus “Persae” 179 : with a qualifying word, τοιόσδ᾽ ἠμὲν δέμας ἠδὲ καὶ ἔργα Odyssea Homerus Epicus “Odyssey” 17.313; τοιόσδ᾽ ἐστὶ πόδας 19.359: with the Art., ὁ τ. ἀνήρ, αἱ τ. πράξεις, Aeschylus Tragicus “Septem contra Thebas” 547, Sophocles Tragicus “Oedipus Tyrannus” 895 (Lyric poetry); ἐν τῇ τ. ἀνάγκῃ Thucydides Historicus 4.10; οἱ τοιοίδε Sophocles Tragicus “Ajax” 330; τὸ τ. (compare ὅδε, οὗτος) ; but this distinction is not strictly observed. adverb τοιῶσδε Adamantius Physiognomonicus “Vent.” 37, 39, 1Eustathius Episcopus Thessalonicensis ad Dionysius Periegeta “Prooem.” p.82 Bacchylides Lyricus, etc. τοῐ- in Aeschylus Tragicus “Prometheus Vinctus” 239, “Ag.” 1400, Sophocles Tragicus “Oedipus Tyrannus” 435, “Aj.” 453 ; but not so frequently as in τοιοῦτος.
