Hosea (Hebreeuws הוֹשֵׁעַ H1954), de laatste koning van het koninkrijk Israël en regeerde van 732-722 v.C.. Hij volgde Pekahia op.
Hosea, de zoon van Ela, die een coup pleegde tegen Pekahia en daarna koning werd (2 Kon. 15:30). Volgens Assyrische annalen werd hij door Tiglath-pileser III op de kroon gezet. Hij was een vazalkoning van Assyrië (2 Kon. 17:3ev.).
Deze koning wordt diverse malen vermeld in de inscripties van Tiglath-pileser III:
816. The land of Bît-Humria . . . . . . . . all of its people, together with their goods I carried off to Assyria. Pakaha (=Pekahia), their king they deposed and I placed Ausi' (=Hosea) over them as king. 10 talents of gold, x talents of silver, as their tribute I received from them and to Assyria I carried them.

Met Ausi' wordt dan de koning Hosea bedoeld, terwijl Bît-Humria zeer waarschijnlijk "huis van Omri" betekent.
