Intrans., to rise: φῶς, Mt 4:16 (= Is 9:1); ὁ ἥλιος, Mt 13:6, Mk 4:6 16:2, Ja 1:11; νεφέλη, Lk 12:54; φωσφόρος, II Pe 1:19; ὁ Κύριος, prob. with ref. to metaph. of sun or star, He 7:14 (cf. ref target="ἐξανατέλλω"ἐξ-ανατέλλω).†

Δήμητρος ἀντέλλει στάχυν Aeschylus Tragicus “Fragmenta - American Journal of Philology” 300, cf. LXX.Gen.3.18+8th c.BC+; ὕδωρ ἀ. make water gush forth, Pindarus Lyricus “I.” 6(5).75; τὸν ἥλιον NT.Matt.5.45:—so in passive, φλὸξ ἀνατελλομένα a flame mounting up, Plato Philosophus “Ion” 4(3).83.
