__III.4 beguile, cozen, deceive, ἡ δ᾽ ἄρ᾽ ἐν σκότῳ λήθουσά με ἔσαιν᾽ Ἐρινύς Sophocles Tragicus “Fragmenta” 577 ; σ. μ᾽ ἔννυχος φρυκτωρία seeks to deceive me, Euripides Tragicus “Rhesus” 55 (or in signification 111.3).
__III.5 in NT.1Thes.3.3, σαίνεσθαι ἐν ταῖς θλίψεσι seems to mean to be shaken, disturbed; σαινόμενοι τοῖς λεγομένοις ἐδάκρυον 3rd c.AD(?): Diogenes Laertius 8.41 (or in signification 111.4) ; σαίνεται· κινεῖται, σαλεύεται, ταράττεται, 5th c.AD(?): Hesychius Legal icographus ; but compare σιαίνω.
